SiwesConnect was founded in 2018 by Nonso Okechukwu, who brings extensive experience in student internship, industrial training, and team management. It was born out of the need to proffer a solution for students who find it hard to secure a placement for their mandatory six months (university) or one year (polytechnic) of industrial training to gain hands-on experience for their academic pursuit.
SiwesConnect focuses on supporting businesses as well as students in a symbiotic model, where businesses gain more workforce at little or no cost, and students in return gain more knowledge relevant to their field of study.
Today, SiwesConnect has bridged the gap of undue stress for students and increased the workforce of participating companies. We cover all 36 states of the federation and almost every university, both public and private.
SiwesConnect provides bespoke matching between students and companies — a student is merged with a choice company, or one in line with their course of study.
Over 10,000 students and counting have registered, with over 100,000 expected. We have over a 95% success rate in merging students with companies.
Over 300 companies are registered with us, and we expect to grow that to 10,000. We deliver value to both our students and our companies.
An astute entrepreneur, problem solver, and web developer, and a graduate of Geology from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. He has nurtured the goal of helping students succeed in the harshest of environments by proffering a solution to a lingering problem over the years — a teacher, mentor, engineer, and events planner who believes hard work over time leads to success.
We're home-grown programmers who came together to bridge the gap between student interns and their prospective internship companies in their quest to acquire industrial knowledge for academic pursuit.
